Swim Meets & Competition
The Commonwealth Cudas Swim Team participates in many different meets throughout the summer, organized by the Northern Virginia Swim League (NVSL). The team competes in swim meets on Saturday mornings against other teams in our division, called, “A Meets.” The team also competes in developmental Fairfax Area Swim Team races on Monday evenings called “FAST Meets” or “B Meets,” which gives all swimmers a chance to race. Additionally, our relay teams compete in Relay Carnival, and eligible individual swimmers may compete in IM Carnival, swim divisionals, and for those that qualify at divisionals, compete in All-Stars at the end of the season.
Volunteers
Commonwealth Swim Club is run by volunteers, and the swim team is no different. Swim meets also take an army of volunteers to run. Please read on to see how you can help. All families with a swimmer on the team will be expected to assist with swim meets at some point throughout the season.
• Home Dual Meets: 22-25 volunteers to officiate and/or time
• Away Dual Meets: 18-21 volunteers to officiate and/or time
• Home FAST meet: 18-21 volunteers to officiate and/or time
• Away FAST meet: 12-15 volunteers to officiate and/or time
